Training Process

  1. Training Duration

Training duration is 6 months.

2. Training Process

Two components are focused in this training.

i.            Theory part

ii.            Practical part/Industrial Training

Theory Part

Theory component is given by using the following strategies in Divisional Secretarial (DS) /District level.

Strategy A

Soft Skills Develop Programmes are conducted to selected groups by another party in the particular centers. Then develop curricular (NVQ Level 02) are delivered to the target group in the same place by NAITA.

Strategy B

Other training centers (VTA, DTET, DOA…. etc.) are used to provide theory components for the selected groups within the District.

Strategy C

The candidates are placed to the industry for real workforce exposure and the theory component is given during same period according to the set time table.

Practical Part/Industrial Training

NAITA is the mandated organization in the Sri Lanka to provide industrial training for apprentices who completed the in-house training under TVET sector.

At presently, NAITA is being worked with more than 18000 industries in Sri Lanka to provide industrial training for youth. In addition to that, in these days a training vacancies collection survey is being conducted by NAITA with covering 25 Districts with the objective of expanding the training capacity of NAITA.

Therefore, NAITA is able to provide industrial training for the selected groups who completed the theory component networking with government and private sector establishments in the particular District.

Industrial Training/On-The-Job Training period is 41/2 months. In that period, trainee has to do the following activities.

v  Signing a training contract with industry

v  Maintain a Daily Diary given by NAITA

v  Face To continuous assessments conduct by NAITA
